The short version if you didn’t want to read the article is that a youtuber by the name of Trevor Jacob (Professional Snowboarder), recorded a video of him flying a plane and it crashes. He managed to get out safely (of course), but he then proceeded to hide and discard all the plane parts and then claimed to not have known where they are.
Years later he proceeded to plead guilty in court saying:
that the scheme was cooked up to earn commissions from a wallet manufacturer that sponsored the video.
He got 6 months in jail. Crazy what people would do for them juicy views and sponsorship money.
